Two things you need to keep in mind if you’re bringing your phone to Asia.
- Is it GSM? (e.g. does it use SIM cards)
- Is it unlocked? (e.g. it’ll work on multiple mobile carriers)
If you are traveling to Asia, as long as you have a GSM phone, you will be fine. Basically any phone that has a SIM card should work. If your phone doesn’t use SIM cards, such as CDMA phones, you are out of luck.
You also need to make sure that the phone is UNLOCKED. It needs to be unlocked so that you can use it on any carrier, not the one you bought it from. Contact your carrier if you are unsure, or pop in a SIM card from another company and see if it’ll work.
Other than that you’re good to go!
